Rose & Felix

Good Morning Crafters,

I would like to show you another card I have made recently,

This is an 8x8 Card, made for Julie (or mum to me) for mother's day and is layered with, well to be honest LOADS.

PLUS lots of paper picking with my fabby new Tim Holtz Craft Pick, which I love not least because it is retractable and if I knock it off the desk I don't get a pierced finger catching it :)

Rose is Coloured with Letraset ProMarkers, Tulip Yellow and Mustard for the hair, rose and antique pinks for her clothes, her flowers I used a Lilac and then a darker purple with an Ultra Fine Nib to detail. Felix was coloured using a number 2 Grey and my blending tool.

The punched border strip was using this Tonic Studios Multi Lever punch

Plus some scrap paper out of my scrap draw (I thinkit was BG Euphoria once upon a time) and lots of layers of standard Coloured Card

The doily is one out of a pound shop pack cut down to size, but as daft as it sounds the bits I really loveare the faux stitching and paper pricking, doesn't take long and is just one of those extra details that makes all the difference :)

P.S The shop will be closing early next week Mon - Fri 10am - 3pm so make sure you come in these times or give us a call on 01789 778074 if you need anything urgently and we'll do our best to help out :)

Wee Suzi

Good Afternoon Bee Crafty'ers,

Well Julie has been at it again, I started colouring an image yesterday and when I looked back it was gone and now it has been turned into yet another beautiful card.

This is Wee Suzi, another of the wee stamps that is due in anytime now, Julie has layered her up on coloured cardstock and using the remnants of her Kaisercraft Tigerlilly Blossom from yesterday's offering and Junkitz Fanciful Plaid which is doible sided the large green section is the reverse and the plaid is the front and it's only 50p a sheet so BARGAIN!

The punched edge was done using the tonic multigeared punch which although used for paper on this project have been design to withstand up to 400gsm

The shop is OPEN on Saturday's 10am - 4.30pm & Julie is in so why notpop in and see what she is playing with this weekend and maybe have a cuppa whilst you browse :)

Thanks

Tigerlilly

Good Afternoon Crafters,

Today at the hive we have had a GORGEOUS New range of 12x12 paper in from Kaisercraft. Like a lot of the Kaisercraft Ranges (e.g BonjourUtopia, Gypsy Sisters etc ) it lends itself as well to cards and latered pages as it does to scrapbooking, and remember Kaiser is double sided, and as I tell anyone who will listen, one of the fab things about kaisercraft is on the back, instead of printing the information strip twice they put that strip to good use with a decorative strip that is great for going across cards or as a border.

There are 6 Gorgeous Double Sided Papers in stock so why not pop over and have a browse.

Now as well as beautiful paper, we love a good A4 cardstock, doesn't have to be patterned just good and weighty, now we all know how useful something like hammered cardstock can be, great for stamping on inking in spritzing, whatever your current colouring poison and only £2.50 for 10.

BUT what about something extra special, well for that our new favourite cardstock for adding a bit of texture without too much fuss is the A4 Broderie Card.

Currently Available in 4 Colours online and instore it is beautiful and is great for anything from pages to wedding stationery, it really has that touch of elegance and class about it :)

Thank you for looking

Just Another Manic Monday woah ooooo woah

Good Afternoon Crafters,

Before you ask yes I did sing it as I typed, (just be greatful I was on my own for that bit :) ),

Well it's been a bit manic here at the hive, I had planned to geth the pleated ribbon online and photographed and then the tonic punches arrived and well to be honest that was that.

The border punches from tonic are very similiar to Martha' s as they are very durable, and the patterns are gorgeous, not all the designs were available as yet but we decided to start with the ones that were so if you wanted to start building a collection you can do it slowly.

The punches are geared which means they don't need a lot of pressure as basically the punch does the work for you. at the moment we have three designs in stock. 2 of which do decorative strips that are fab for across pages or cards and can also be used as wraps for 3d projects cupcakes etc. The othee 1 is the dotty edge and is one of my faves it is just FAB.

You can see the designs online as well as in the shop and have a play with one to see if its for you :)

But the punches aren't all we had from tonic :) we also had the Tim Holtz Retractable Craft Pick and Paper Distresser

Also we had a fab time at the crop yesterday, so mcuh so in fact that we have decided to keep the Sundays Yaaaaayyyyyyyyyy, when it comes down to it we are here for you and the crop ladies decided Sundays were best for them as there was less to clash with. So there are a coupl of spaces left on April & May please don't be worried if you are on your own, nearly everyone whoc comes to classes and crops comes on their own and we are a very welcoming crowd (if I do say so myself).

As well as Setting yourself some time for YOUR hobby it's also great if you have somehting in your stash you don't know how to use, bring it with you and we'll come up with some ideas together :)

Yesterday was a shock for all of us to be honest as we were so productive, got lots done, played with lots of goodies (there was still cake and cuppas, it wasn't THAT productive)

There is one space left on the promarker class for Saturday which we are really looking forward to and if you haven't seen already the FlowerSoft is on offer for only £2.25 a tub, if you'd like some but would like to see it demo'd first please pop in :)

Thats all for now

Afternoon Crafty Peeps,

Well it has been a busy week down at the hive for WEDDINGS. I love doing Wedding Stationery and this week we have been very busy doing invites, order of service, table plans and favors (all for different weddings). It is hard work but great fun, as me and Dave got married in 2010 the worst bit is missing doing all the things and although I was very happy with all the colour choices etc I made you always want to try a different one.

And thats why I love doing them as I get to do all different styles and colour combinations and what I really like about 21st century brides (of any age) they know they no longer have to conform to a set of rules or "How things should be done", you want mini eggs instead of sugared almonds, BRILLIANT :)

Unfortunately I can't show you any of what we have been making as the Weddings haven't happened yet and I wouldn't want to risk any of the guests seeing the result sbefor eth ebig day, but I will be putting together some fab NEW samples soon so pop in or keep your eyes peeled.

Oooh whilst I remember if you are getting married and want to have a go at making your own, our in stock Luxury DIY Stationery is half marked price in store, none of it's discontinued but we have decided not to hold stock anymore and order exactly what you need as and when.

Easter is coming there is no way of avoiding the choccie mayhem, supermarket shelves are overflowing and the ensuing price war is about to begin. If you send Easter cards or as is becoming quite popular Spring cards we have some great ideas in the shop on our easter display
We do have some fabby plans for over easter with childrens classes in the holidays and a DEMO for Good Friday so keep your eyes peeled for upcoming dates

This Sunday is our last Sunday Crop everybody sigh aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

BUT dont worry we're still having them just on the first Saturday of the month instead, and you can book online or instore.

Thanks for reading & Have a great weekend

Bev x
